WANEP Program Director Becomes Fellow of ICMC

The Program Director of the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), Mr. Chukwuemeka B. Eze was recently inducted into the mediators’ hall of fame with his elevation as a Fellow of the Institute of Chattered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) of Nigeria, at the Institute’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Induction Ceremony in Abuja on November 25, 2014. The award is in recognition of Mr. Eze’s active practice and sterling qualities as a Mediator and Conciliator for over a decade; as well as his contributions to the Institute as the Pioneer Deputy Registrar and member of the Governing Council.

As a Fellow of the Institute, Mr. Eze is charged with the responsibility of mentoring upcoming mediators, especially members of the Institute;
advocate for the chattered status of mediation across the West African region and support the National Infrastructure for Peace in Nigeria. He is also expected to create awareness and instill public confidence in mediation as a tool for resolving disputes among others.

ICMC is a professional body responsible for training, regulation and development of
the practice of Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR), especially Mediation and Conciliation in Nigeria. Established in 1999 from the Nigeria Association of Mediator, ICMC has grown from strength to strength, with physical presence in almost all parts of Nigeria, and has trained more than 2500 persons on skills of mediation and conciliation.
