Since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in December 2019, the effects on human lives have been devastating. The virus has spread across all 15-member states of the Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) recording more than 76,355 confirmed cases and 1,323 fatalities as of June 30, 2020 .
