By The Board, Management and Staff of the West
Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) with much sadness announce the untimely passing
of Kafando Winnemalgado who until January 12,
2020 served as our National Early Warning System
(NEWS) Manager. He was a promising, goal-oriented
and affable person who demonstrated commitment
in all his endeavors.
He made significant contributions to the effective
operationalization of WANEP’s Early Warning
system in Burkina Faso and ensured extensive
dissemination of WANEP’s Early Warning outputs
and other relevant publications of the organization.
We were privileged to have shared in the life of a
devoted family man, a dear colleague and a
professional. Kafando will be sorely missed and the memories never to be forgotten. Though sad, we
rest on the assurance that he has found rest.
Kafando is survived by a wife and three kids.
In this time of great sorrow, we offer our sincerest
prayers and condolences to his family and friends.
