Historically, the Konkombas and the Anufors have lived together for several years. However, contestation over land ownership and legitimacy rights have often flared up tensions and violent conflicts between the two main ethnic groups in the areas. Over the years, several interventions have been made by stakeholders to resolve the recurrent conflicts. This notwithstanding, the conflict between the two ethnic groups persists, causing humanitarian emergencies in communities within the districts.
