The Future of Governance in the Sahel

This Future of Governance in the Sahel: (Re)building Social Cohesion and Public Trust report is groundbreaking, timely and strikes a chord with many of us who call the Sahel home. I am deeply honored to offer personal reflections as a preface to this report. I do so as a citizen of the region, as well as one who had the privilege to serve my country Nigeria as its President and, since leaving office, as one who continues to play an active role in supporting governance in this region as well as across the continent.
