2023 Annual Report:- Driving Next Generation Innovations And Partnerships For Sustainable Peace

In 2002, WANEP entered a historic partnership with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in the implementation of a regional early warning and response system referred to as ECOWARN. A standing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between WANEP and ECOWAS in 2004 guides this partnership and constitutes a major strategic achievement for WANEP and West African civil society as it offers the much-desired opportunity to contribute to Track I responses to conflicts and policy debates.
