The Board, Management and Staff of the West
\nAfrica Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) with much sadness announce the untimely passing
\nof Kafando Winnemalgado who until January 12,
\n2020 served as our National Early Warning System
\n(NEWS) Manager. He was a promising, goal-oriented
\nand affable person who demonstrated commitment
\nin all his endeavors.
\nHe made significant contributions to the effective
\noperationalization of WANEP\u2019s Early Warning
\nsystem in Burkina Faso and ensured extensive
\ndissemination of WANEP\u2019s Early Warning outputs
\nand other relevant publications of the organization.
\nWe were privileged to have shared in the life of a
\ndevoted family man, a dear colleague and a
\nprofessional. Kafando will be sorely missed and the memories never to be forgotten. Though sad, we
\nrest on the assurance that he has found rest.
\nKafando is survived by a wife and three kids.
\nIn this time of great sorrow, we offer our sincerest
