The direct partnership between the\u00a0 two institutions is the first of its kind in the region and attracted high-level interest from the US government including Counsellor to the US State Department, Thomas A. Shannon who was represented by Mr. Alexander Deprez, the USAID, West Africa Mission Director.<\/p>\n<p>The project \u201cMitigating Electoral Violence in West Africa\u201d aims to mitigate<br \/>\nelectoral violence in Burkina Faso, Cote d\u2019Ivoire, Guinea, Niger and Sierra<br \/>\nLeone through WANEP National Early Warning Systems, NEWS.
