{"id":6612,"date":"2021-03-15T22:04:46","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T22:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wanep.org\/wanep\/?page_id=6612"},"modified":"2021-03-23T21:43:57","modified_gmt":"2021-03-23T21:43:57","slug":"research","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wanep.org\/wanep\/research\/","title":{"rendered":"RESEARCH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WANEP seeks to increase knowledge in peacebuilding in West Africa and other regions in Africa through a cutting-edge, demand driven and collaborative research with partners including States, ECOWAS, AU, UN, EU, and the private sector. \u00a0Broadly, WANEP\u2019s research encompasses the following thematic areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Human security<\/li>\n<li>Early Warning and Early Response<\/li>\n<li>Resilience building<\/li>\n<li>Democracy, governance and Elections<\/li>\n<li>Women, Peace and Security<\/li>\n<li>Youth Peacebuilding<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Security &#8211; climate change, natural resource conflicts, and associated intra and inter-communal violence<\/li>\n<li>Violent extremism, terrorism and transnational organised crimes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The research products are thus designed to support policy advocacy, effective decision making and serve as a resource for leveraging partnerships for peace and security. Furthermore, WANEP\u2019s research products are used to generate enlightened discourses in peace and security to enable state and non-state actors to take decisions based on empirical evidence.
